citygirl1962 50 Posted December 18, 2015 I am anxious about the pre-op diet and am wondering if there is a good way to transition into it? What about doing low carb/ Atkins induction for a week first? I am thinking that would suppress hunger and carb cravings.
Djmohr 6,965 Posted December 18, 2015 I have to say, I just ripped off the bandaid and honestly it was no big deal. The first 3 days were the hardest and after that I just kept my eye on the goal. After day 4 I could not even drink all the Protein skakes they wanted me to. I was drinking 3 a day and then broth.< /p>

glitter eyes 1,398 Posted December 19, 2015 I eased into my pre op liquid diet and I am so glad I did. I eliminated all caffeine about two months before and then about 30 days before my pre op diet I cut out all refined sugar and focused on Protein and veggies. I think it made my liquid diet so much easier. I never had any headaches, feelings of hunger or low energy. It was relatively easy. I think my last day, the day before surgery, was the hardest and I think it was mostly due to last minute jitters.
Pinkgirl1234 761 Posted December 19, 2015 My doctor is not an advocate of all liquid...I can have cottage cheese, yogurt and one serving of softened Proteins and steamed spinach.2 to 3 shakes and I feel fine...isopure Liquid Protein is my new friend.
