Centrum VitaMINTS

Recommended Posts

I just saw a commercial for a new product called Centrum Vitamints. The "Vitamins that you enjoy like a mint". It looks like you take two daily. Anyone planning on trying these?

I saw those at the store the other day - sounds intriguing. I haven't checked to see if they have everything we need, though

I got a free sample. I'm okay with swallowing so I probably won't buy them but they didn't taste bad.

I have used them since the surgery and love them plus my bloods have come back perfect both times. Yayyyyy.

I did try the Centrum tablets and they made me throw up but that was a while ago so might try them again in a few months.

I like the taste and they seem to be fairly comparable on the label to flintstones...but 2 of them makes a serving and it seems like I'd go through them pretty quickly at 4/day. Also checked them against the recommendations from my center and there's no Iron, and they come up short on thiamin and copper.

I always take separate Iron pills so that's really not a problem - and I take B-complex every day so that covers the thiamine. so the copper is the only possible concern - at least for me. I'll have to check my Centrum Silver for copper, now that you mention it (I've always taken Centrum Silver - or the generic equivalent)

I just compared them side-by-side with Centrum Silver. They are a little weak on the mineral side (the mint ones, that is). I'm surprised they didn't make them comparable to their other products. Guess I'll stick with Silver.

I've seen their commercials, but I haven't tried them. We certainly have different Vitamins, so taking a product that we like is a bonus. Right now , I am taking natural vitamins. My doctor told me that Flintstone with Iron was enough but I wanted to have something a little more substantial.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
