Well.... I haven't been on in a while because I have been sort of depressed lately. Had three big events (I planned) to take place over the last three weeks so I have been crazy planning, organizing, etc. Then I got sick with the flu last week and it whipped me out for about 5 days. I just started back feeling like myself this week. I started back working out this week too. Thank goodness. With all that going on, along with my cousin/sister having major surgery to remove a tumor attached to her heart and liver, I haven't been in the best head space. Oh.. and the scale has not been moving! Ugh! Anywho... I took this pic morning. I just stared at it. My neck and face look so skinny. I just stared and then I smiled :)

And so imagine all you are going through now, but before you had your surgery and how much harder it would be if this were happening pre-surgery...and then take a deep breath, be proud of yourself, you've come this far! :)

I think one of the great things I've realized through this journey is that the sleeve is there for us, no matter what else is going on in our lives. My life has been crazy the past few months too. My sister left her husband so she and her FOUR kids moved in with us for three months. Meanwhile, we were trying to sell our house and buy a new one. Then we moved to the new house and had a MILLION projects to do before we could really get settled in. I definitely got WAY outside of my routine in terms of exercise and whatnot. But I've managed to maintain my weight, because the sleeve is still there, doing its thing for me. I know it will be even better once I can get back on track with my exercise!

You look simply beautiful!

Hang in there. It is so hard when life gets in the way of our well intentions with health and weight loss. I've been going through some stuff recently myself.

I do find when I can continue the ONE thing I can actually control, which is what I put into my mouth and how much excersise I get, I have an easier time dealing with the things I can't control.

You've done a great job with your weight loss. This is just a ltitle bump in the road we all face. Like I said, you look beautiful, so there's that :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
