I live in Fort Worth. I went to Ultimate Bariatrics and used Dr Adam Smith for my gastric sleeve procedure. The team is really great. They will help you figure out which procedure is best for you. The web site is http://fortworthlapband.com/.

I read a lot of bad reviews about follow up for them, did you have any issues?

Really? I'm surprised because I have had zero problems. They send me a text the day before each appointment and they are always so nice. I'm about 2 1/2 months post op. Where did you see bad reviews for them?

I would not recommend True Results. They were great up front, but when I showed up for my initial appointment, I waited in their lobby for 30 minutes with no explanation. I just felt like a number to them and went directly to the source, which is the Nicholson Clinic. Dr. Nicholson was great and the staff was very pleasant as well. I've had no issues so far and I'm in the process of making my appointments for pre-surgery requirements. My initial appointment with Dr. Nicholson was very brief, but I had already done my research and knew I wanted the sleeve and I've not had any prior abdominal surgeries, so he asked, when do you want to do it and I said ASAP. I also did a bit of research here on BariatricPal and Google about Dr. Nicholson and could not find one bad review. Good Luck!

Ooops, I almost forgot! Here's their website: http://www.nicholsonclinic.com/

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
