So frustrated! Anyone know about BSBC coverage?

Recommended Posts

Been to the seminar, been to the initial consultation. When I called insurance, they said if your BMI is 35-39 you had to have a comorbity issue accompanying that level. I have HBP. Now the doctor is saying that HBP doesn't really count, you also have to have diabetes, sleep apnea or high cholesterol along WITH hypertension to qualify. Why do they even include it then? Now, I have to have a sleep study and HOPE that I have sleep apnea???

It was sort of a long road/journey to get approved for me and so it seems to be that way for many others.

Go for your consultation with your chosen surgeon if you haven't yet and let him/her send you for whatever testing they feel needed. In my case, my surgeon worked hard at getting me approved. Good luck

high blood pressure is a co morbidity. Also have the sleep study done now. Most EVERYONE has sleep apena, it has to be a RDI of 50 or greater! My BMI was 40 just barley and I only have sleep apnea and got approved.
