Jdr24 4 Posted December 16, 2015 Curious question for the community. I just completed my first week post op of getting sleeved. I was wondering what the general weight lose for this period is? I've lost 24lbs in this first week and want to know if that's normal or something I should relay to my doctor
slvarltx 332 Posted December 16, 2015 What is your start weight? Percentage is a lot more meaningful than absolute numbers. If you read through the posts, there really is no "normal" as some actually gain. Are you getting your Water and Protein requirements met? Try to focus on the process, the weight WILL release if you follow the program. If you are feeling good, probably all is well. If you are nervous, call your doctor; you are the customer after all. BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 16, 2015 There is no general wight loss. It varies from those who lose a few pounds, those who lose a lot and even those who experience a gain. Then you add in age, starting weight, whether you had a pre-op diet, whether you have a Clear liquids stage, whether you are male or female and any co-morbidities and it's easy to understand why there is no average loss. As long as you feel healthy there's no need to call the doctor.
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted December 16, 2015 If you had a high starting weight and no pre-op diet, 24 pounds isn't outside the realm of "normal", but as everyone else has said, there really is no way to say for sure. If you are concerned, you should call your surgeon's office.
