I am 6 weeks post op and have been having some gallbladder issues on my right side. It's more up under my ribcage. You may want to talk to your surgeon or Dr about it. I just had an appointment with my surgeon today about it. We are going to leave it be for now, it seems to be getting a little better.

yep...right side is generally gallbladder. Don't let it go. Tell your Dr, go get an ultrasound to make sure. You don't want to play around with the gallbladder. Get that bad boy removed if its giving your trouble.

@@scarlep please go to the doctor.

I did not and ended up in the ER with cholecystitis and pancreatitis and then had to suffer for a bit because my gallbladder was too infected for surgery, and then I had it out 6 months post-op. After the VSG it was no big deal and I was back at work in less than a week and I have had no issues since.

I hope you feel better soon and please go to the doctor!

Alot of WLS patients have problems with gallbladders because of the rapid weight loss. It would happen after surgery, so you could have a perfectly normal GB on surgery day and develop a problem post op. Good luck. I get to keep mine for now.

I had my very first gallbladder attack 2 weeks ago. It was agony. It has to come out. For now I am just not eating raw veggies or anything fried or any fats. Limiting cheese as well. Galbladders are nothing to fool with. Dangerous beasts, those gallbladders!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
