Ryan TN 348 Posted December 15, 2015 I am 6 weeks post op and have been having some gallbladder issues on my right side. It's more up under my ribcage. You may want to talk to your surgeon or Dr about it. I just had an appointment with my surgeon today about it. We are going to leave it be for now, it seems to be getting a little better. wannaBthinsoon 1,634 Posted December 16, 2015 yep...right side is generally gallbladder. Don't let it go. Tell your Dr, go get an ultrasound to make sure. You don't want to play around with the gallbladder. Get that bad boy removed if its giving your trouble.
butterfly23 423 Posted December 16, 2015 @@scarlep please go to the doctor. I did not and ended up in the ER with cholecystitis and pancreatitis and then had to suffer for a bit because my gallbladder was too infected for surgery, and then I had it out 6 months post-op. After the VSG it was no big deal and I was back at work in less than a week and I have had no issues since. I hope you feel better soon and please go to the doctor! Ryan TN 348 Posted December 17, 2015 Alot of WLS patients have problems with gallbladders because of the rapid weight loss. It would happen after surgery, so you could have a perfectly normal GB on surgery day and develop a problem post op. Good luck. I get to keep mine for now. wannaBthinsoon 1,634 Posted December 17, 2015 I had my very first gallbladder attack 2 weeks ago. It was agony. It has to come out. For now I am just not eating raw veggies or anything fried or any fats. Limiting cheese as well. Galbladders are nothing to fool with. Dangerous beasts, those gallbladders!
