Do most of you use the flavored or unflavored Protein powders and if so do you have favorites?

Syntrax Nectars powder. I like the Cappuccino flavor the best. I also like the Lemonaide, Fuzzy Navel, Crystal Sky, and strawberry Kiwi. I like that they taste good mixed with Water, and that they mix very easily with just a spoon... and don't clump.

I like the Syntrax Nectars for flavored and Isopure whey 0 carb for my unflavored. I usually flavor it with frozen strawberries or unsweetened cocoa (with splenda) or even some sugar-free syrups. I really like the Syntrax flavors I've tried.

I like Syntrax Nectar sweets (Chocolate Truffle & Cappuccino in particular). Unjury chocolate Splendor, Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Double Rich Chocolate. My absolute favorite is Chike Iced coffee. I mix with either unsweetened cashew milk or (for a treat) almond milk hint-of-honey vanilla. I tend to use lots of mix-ins like instant coffee, SF hazelnut Syrup, SF cinnamon vanilla syrup, etc.

Wow I just looked at the Syntrax website and they are EXPENSIVE. Mainly because I hate to spend so much before I know I will like it. Does anyone know where you can get test packs?

You can contact syntrex and they'll send you a sample pack for about $15. I didn't like any of the flavored besides Cappuccino. I use an unflavored Protein that mixes well and I got it from Amazon for only $21. I put it in whatever crystal lite I'm drinking and that way I get both my fluids and my protein in!

They will sell you a sample pack for around $20 if you phone the company. I scoffed when I first heard that, but the woman I spoke to was super friendly and helpful. I particularly wanted to try the fruit flavored powders in the hopes I will have more options when the time comes. I really like them. I don't remember the exact nutritional count, but they have 25-30g Protein and 0 carbs. The chocolate truffle is 100 calories if I remember correctly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
