Vishish1 15 Posted February 5, 2016 15th Feb for me :-) pre op diet is harder then I thought though :-( any advice? I had a hard time because of hunger and tiredness the first two days. Wednesday and Thursday weren't as hard but I was still hungry. Today I had a harder time because there was a Superbowl Party right behind my desk, but I have fantastic friends that brought veggies and low fat dip and a strawberry salad. I had raw veggies with a little dip and a salad with some raspberry vinaigrette. Not too much sugar and I didn't veer far off the path too far. I had a shake an hour ago because I stay hungry! Do the best you can. It's a struggle but you can do it!
Amelie2016 116 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Yes, all the cold stuff or room temp stuff I seem to still feel going down. I had a hiatal hernia repair as well, along with scar tissue reduced from a previous lap band that I had removal a few years before. I just woke up, still not too familiar with these forums, guys. I think I'm on a free membership. ANYWAY I too alas, moved my bowels this morning and I think it's going to happen now frequently. I am home eating the Bone Broth that I made during my pre op diet. I froze it all in muffin aluminum, chicken and beef, lamb, farm bones. It took me the entire two weeks because bone broth has to cook slow and low so long. Anyway, I think that is why I finally went. Two weeks is a good idea for a pre op, because the first week you're adjusting and bargaining with yourself over the eating plan. By the second week, you're a pro, by the day before, it's cake. Then, afterwards, forgettaboutit. You're golden. How much did you lose during pre op diet Not much at all during my 6 months preparation ... because I had two incidents that threw me off my eating plan. Skin cancer removal (basal) via MOHs surgery and a simple dental procedure turned into a horror show by the dentist extracting a tooth ....long story, flesh fell off the inside of my jaw. NOT just dry socket, it took me three months of my 6 month plan to get flesh back in my mouth. I ate only things like starchy Soups. No losing weight. On the 2 week pre op diet I think I lost about 15-20 pounds. I really wanted my liver to be small because I didn't want any complications! So paranoid after this whole last year! It's a struggle but you can do it! it's hard isn't it,I'm on a liquid only diet so I'm allowed 8 yogurts a day with 1 pint of milk that's all :-( the yogurts are making me feel sick though so only managed to eat half of one today and yesterday! But I've lost 8 pounds so that's good I guess! Thank you for your support :-) we can get through this ???? 10 days left until surgery!!
