What do you mean "everything is different" ?

Every*one* is different.

I, also, was pretty much back to normal, except for my eating (or lack of eating at that point). I felt really good and had no complications at all.

Hopefully it's not a very physically demanding job. I returned to a desk job 2 weeks after surgery. It was fine except I was SO tired. Like a new level of tired kind of tired. Completely drained. It took a good 6-8 weeks to really get back to full energy. B12 shots helped. Also, plan on taking your food with you and plan, plan, plan in advance. It takes so much stress off you to have your food/snacks and not have to figure it out on the fly and make poor decisions.

I didn't say everything is different , I said everyone is different, but no 2 people recovery will be the same is what I meant

I'm one week out and back at work. Have no pain, just major fatigue. Personally, I wouldn't want to be learning something new right now as my focus is not as good as normal due to the tiredness. Get lots of rest when you can, best of luck in your new job.

Energy can be pretty low in that time frame so be sure you are prepared to care deeply for yourself, even at work. Make sure you have all the Fluid and mushies intake you need as often as you need to keep your energy stable. If it's physically strenuous you might have a tougher time Bc your caloric intake is so low and your body will be delegating its resources to healing your stomach and incisions, and flushing out fat and drugs from the hospital.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
