bhopeful 33 Posted December 15, 2015 Do any of you feel that when you eat dairy products, your weight-loss slows down? I am not talking about those of you who are obviously allergic to dairy or lactose intolerant. This question is for those of you who are able to tolerate dairy but maybe it slows down your weight loss? The reason I ask is because I love dairy products and I do not have any side effects and I don't feel bad with eating or drinking dairy products. But I have read that dairy products causes inflammation for some people and I am wondering if dairy products is making my weight loss extra slow. Anyway, just wondering what you all think of dairy products. There are some schools of thought out there that think dairy products are not good for anybody and I feel that dairy products are a good way of getting Protein and Calcium but just wondering if anyone thinks dairy is negative for weight-loss? slvarltx 332 Posted December 15, 2015 Absolutely not! Integral part of my diet
RickM 1,752 Posted December 15, 2015 It's nothing that I have ever found - real milk in Protein Shakes, greek yogurt, cheese, etc. I guess that there could always be some outliers that might respond like that, but they would be just that - those well outside the norm. Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted December 15, 2015 I'll never know because I will never test your theory. If it weren't for dairy products I would starve.
jess9395 5,449 Posted December 15, 2015 Haven't had any problems and it's a big mainstay in my diet.
heather5565 959 Posted December 15, 2015 I haven't noticed that weeks I may eat less dairy has slowed my weight loss. I eat dairy almost every single meal and I think I'm pretty on key with the weight loss average I guess you'd have to test it.... and then let us know what the outcome is! JenniferP1 75 Posted December 15, 2015 Ii am sorta feeling that way -- I feel like when I added a Laughing Cow wedge each day, my progress slowed.
livvsmum 2,369 Posted December 15, 2015 I definitely didn't find that. Greek yogurt and 2% cheese sticks are staples in my diet during the actively losing phase and now in maintanence too.
AlanaRN 419 Posted December 16, 2015 I would starve if it weren't for dairy!!!!!
Kindle 8,667 Posted December 16, 2015 I eat Greek yogurt and cheese and drink milk EVERY SINGLE DAY. I lost over 100% of my excess weight in 10 months and have kept it off for 14 months, so I'd say, no, dairy does not stop weight loss.
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 16, 2015 cheese and yogurt have been a major part of my post-op eating. Not bothering me at all.
Daisee68 2,493 Posted December 16, 2015 Ditto. Huge part of my diet. I guess I don't know it loss would have gone faster but not sure I would have wanted it to. I'm quite happy with the 10 to 12 pounds loss per month.
