It depends on if you are on a laptop or mobile on how you post a new topic. On my mobile app, there are 3 dots at the top right hand side that you have to click on. You might want to check the insurance section for their criteria/approach. I have Aetna and that's probably different.
animallover1247 249 Posted December 15, 2015 I just found out last week my surgeons office doesn't schedule the surgery until after the insurance approval which further delays the surery by at least a month
Tobeornottobe 89 Posted December 15, 2015 I don't know how to post a topic can someone tell me? Anyways I have Cigna does anyone know what their approach is and if they help pay for surgery? I have Cigna and they do cover weight loss surgery. Call the number on your Cigna ID card and ask them for a copy of your employer's particular policy. Weight loss surgery is option and some employers opt out.

To be approved I had to meet the criteria set forth by my insurance company. I did not meet the 40 BMI criteria but I had/have co-morbidities (diabetes and high blood pressure), I had to also attend nutrition classes, Cigna requires no less than 90 day. It has to be 90 or it will be denied. I did have quite a few appointments, physc eval, ekg, bloodwork, and some others I can't think of at the moment. It may be different for you since you have a high BMI. I encourage you to call Cigna and ask for the criteria and speak to your primary care doctor.

lat72 38 Posted January 10, 2016 I have Cigna and my BMI is 40.78. After all criteria that has to be met. If I go below 40 BMI with no other health issues, will Cigna approve VGS?
Tobeornottobe 89 Posted January 11, 2016 The surgeon's office usually uses the first weight. My BMI was low and I was approved based on co-morbidities. Good luck.
