It gets better I promise after one more day it should be easier. I also had a cold or something the first week I started my liquids but it did pass too. Good Luck

Are you trying some hot/warm fluids? I was allowed broth and that was a life saver for me!

i am on day 6. it does get better. i am drinking the vanilla powder with Water. every three hours. and drink lactose free, fat free milk separately (diabetic) because the milk made the shake like sludge. i thought it would be really hard over the weekends but its another hurdle i can check off. i had a gassy headache for about 4 days. and the flatulance is an embarassing situation i think is from the milk. but day 14 is around the corner.

push through. chase with Water if you have to. try blending shake with ice. You Can Do IT. :)

I'm on day 14 of liquids my surgery is12/16 I got super sick at about day 10 came down with a really bad cold high fever the works I'm sure from the lack of nutrients went to Dr they put me on a 3 day zpac I'm now 3 days from surgery and feeling good again. I think it's normal to get a little sick a lot of people do. Just drink your Vitamins I did a really nutrient rich chicken Soup and put it through the bullet blender 1,000 times so it's like Water and that has made my body bounce right back. You will be fine. Also beef bouillon cubes in hot Water seemed to help curb my hunger. They worked best for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
