So it has been almost a year since we all had our surgeries. Is anyone at goal yet? It is so nice to not have to say "I am going to lose weight"as my New Years resolution

I had my surgery Jan 26th 2016 so not quite 1 year. I am 40 pounds from the weight the Dr wanted me to get to before skin removal surgery. He felt after the skin removal I would be at the goal we set up. In the 10 months since surgery have lost 95 pounds for a total of 277 pounds from my highest weight.

My surgery was January 27, 2016. Can't believe it's been eleven months! I haven't had my December weigh in yet but as of November I was down 105 pounds. Finally hit onederland! Last time I saw that was in the mid 80's.

I am about twenty pounds away from goal. I am having a few plastic surgery procedures so I estimate taking off another 15-20 pounds with that.

Congratulations GirthGirl. You are doing fantastic! I can't imagine how wonderful you must feel hitting onederland. My surgery was a day before yours. Right now I have lost 95 since my surgery date and hope when I see the DR again at the end of Jan I can say I have lost at least 100 pounds. I too will have to have plastic surgery which the Dr feels should take off another 30 pounds. Sure sounds like a huge amount of excess skin. Let us know when you have the visit with the plastic surgeon. Keep going strong.

Thank you ssflbelle! Congrats to you too! I am planning on having my first procedure in May. I just have to get the money together first.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
