Anyone else experience lack of energy on the pre-op liquid diet? This is day 2 and I am so tired. I've been taking a multi Vitamin since we are lacking nutrients. But my goodness I thought I had low energy before.

Well my 2 week liquid pre-op has been aborted..dr called and changed my surgery to Jan 11th. The good thing is, it's a better surgery time..12 instead of 3 and I can go to Christmas dinners without carrying all of my food with me.

Hi !!! Guys ????

I will be wrapping things up next week.. I have had a long road in front of me! From being denied to have to start all over again!!!

I was like most people. I show up to my appointment get weighted and move on... Well not so fast???? turns out that My surgery center was not billings correctly.. So long story short it looked like I never went through the weight loss program. But grateful to be able to finish the program finally!!

I want to know if anyone has tried to do a liquid diet before an pre-op diet starts?? I was told to do one day for the week. I have find myself so hungry, that I ended up with a Migraine and in the E.R. ????????????

I did 1 full day of the liquid diet, the only thing I felt(feel) was extremely tired. Like I have taken naps today and yesterday something I usually do just on Sunday's. I never got a headache. Did they say at the hospital that it was something you were lacking? Or was it the type of Protein Drinks you used?

Yes to the emergency room!! but I might add I have chronic Migraines to begin with. I was told to drink Atkins Protein Shake. Because of the amount of Protein in it.. I like drinking premier but I can only have three of those. Premier has to much protein before surgery.

I've done the juicing thing before. The first 3-5 days for me are like that. No energy and then I adapt.

Yes definitely.... Seems like when I first started this journey it was a rare procedure or at least it seemed but as times passed seems it's getting popular

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
