Hi There,

You are right, we do have to attend a support group once before surgery. I had my Lap band in in August of '07. I wish I could attend the support meetings to help with my morale, but I work 2 miles from the Canadian border and it takes me an 1hr and 1/2 to get to Burlington as it is. It is hard to leave work all of the time.

I am not loosing weight and I have had one fill so far. I see Dr. Forgione on 1/2 and I wish he could give me another fill then, but I know it is just to talk.

Be careful with CIGNA. I have them and they are hard to get to pay for the bills. For some reason they are not covering my fills, they would not cover the initial psych eval, or the heart monitor check (to get an idea of your heart rate at the pre-op). I have CIGNA through my husband's work. Other than that, I am very pleased with my experience with Dr. Forgione, the procedure and everything else. I just wish I would start losing. (People who know I have had the operation look at me like why isn't she loosing yet?)

Thanks Cyndi for the heads up, another woman I've talked to who has dr. forgione Cigna paid all but $100. So who knows? I have Cigna through my husband as well. He works for Lane Press, and I've talked to the HR people who have talked to their Cigna contacts and they say its covered, and so far I've only had to pay my copays.

But I do like Dr. Forgione....I live in Saint Albans Cyndi Where are you? If we can meet up and if it would help you to get to the meetings I would be happy to commute.

Elizabeth:smile:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
