I keep dozing off as I recover and I have this giant flinch that jiggles my whole body. This is new. Anyone else having this fresh new weirdness?

New sleeping position? I was always a side sleepers do couldn't post op for a week. Sitting up I'd often startle awake.

No jerks that I remember.

But I never napped as much as I did in the two weeks post-op. It taught me much respect for the value of a deep, short nap. :)

I told a friend about this happening and she said it's called a Hypnic jerk or a sleep Start. It's the pain killers, she says. The brain gets confused between processes and hits the reset. Huh. Interesting, but painful. It will stop with the drugs.

If it's what I'm thinking of, and it happens to me from time to time, while your in that nearly asleep state, your breathing and heartbeat is slowing down a little too much and your brain will give you a jolt to make sure your breathing enough

      The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

        Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
