To poo or not to poo? That is the question. (I know the answer!)

So here's an update on Moi.

Since Saturday later afternoon, I have been having sudden stomach cramping, sudden nausea then leading to dry heaving, then gas and bloating then a sh*t ton (pun intended) of diarrhea.
It's even at night.
Other than all of the intermittently issues listed above, I feel totally fine otherwise. And the nausea and heaving has only happened 4 times in 5 days and it's quick and then that part passes.
It's the continuous liquid stool that I'm worried about.

I do believe I am now dehydrated. And the only reason I know I am now is because today my urine was a medium color and I haven't had to go nearly as much as I normally would, and when I do go, it's small amounts.
Up until today I was still peeing lots and it was always light to clear in color.

My doctor thinks it's because I have recently been put back on a medication the surgeon prescribed to lower the risk (or hopefully prevent) gallstones. I was taken off of it for a few weeks for other reasons not needed to be explained in this post. ☺
All of the above issues are very common side effects. Diarrhea is the first one listed.

I don't believe it's a stricture.

Or at least I pray it isnt!

I am always able to keep food and Water down without problems and other than some cramping right before these episodes start, I'm in no pain and feel completely fine. What's weird is that the last two days I'm fine all day at work, go to the gym and then when I'm done, that's when the cramping - to nausea- to heaving - to gas-to multiple bouts of diarrhea- starts. It starts the second I pull into my driveway. This is actually exactly how it happened when it all started on Saturday!

Weird, right?

Anyway this is super long post, sorry!

I'm just wondering if any of you have had this issue?
Just out of the blue too!
Are you also on a medication to help prevent gallstones? Did you find that this medication gave you the above symptoms?

This cannot be dumping.

Not for 5 days straight! ..... right?
I'm not eating or drinking anything different either.

I'm just getting super tired of living in the bathroom!

But I'm also scared to stop taking the Ursodiol! I don't want gallstones or another surgery!

Any help, tips, advice or info on similar stories is much appreciated!

Thanks for reading and I'm hoping that some of you can help shed some light on this situation.

P.S. my bum bum hurts! :(

P.P.S. This is great for weight loss! hahahaha (but seriously, it actually isn't)

P.P.P.S. I had Gastric bypass (almost) 12 weeks ago. (haven't had this issue before now)

Heather

Sorry I can't be of much help. I had diarrhea right after surgery because I was lactose intolerant and it wasn't until I stopped drinking milk that I got it under control. In your case, this has started much later post-op. Over the years, I have used bananas to control diarrhea.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
