Thurdsay morning I had an extended Tummy Tuck and Lipo to my flank area. I still have tubes hooked up to me but they should come out on Tues. It was most painful coming home the first day and then the second day I had to go back and that was pretty painful. I have a ridiculously high tolerance to drugs and so I just have to bear it.

I peeked at the resluts, belly button looks nice and round, tummy looks flat even though I know it must reallybe swollen, Imm gonna ask my daughter if she can get some pic up for us,.

glad to hear that you are doing ok. take your time and please don't rush yourself. Soon the pain you now feel will be a distant memory. Then you can start to enjoy your new belly.

I'm at Day 17 since my surgery and I think I may have turned the corner today! I have felt like my belly was wrapped in barbed wire for most of the time but today seems better. Nobody prepared me for the swelling and weight gain.....but it's normal (it's Water from the IV's mainly). At my follow up they told me to expect swelling for 6-8 weeks, and I've heard some people say theirs lasted longer.

Best wishes to you in your recovery and your future life as a thin woman with a flat belly!! Yea!!!!!

Thank you all for your words of encouragement! This has been quite a journey and I dont know if I would have done it if I knew how painful it would be, so Im glad I didnt know.

Some get through it without much pain, Im not one.

I am SOOOO glad I did it though!!! Im 46 so I dont have a bikini belly by any means. My stretch marks are still there and I still weigh 150 lbs and am only 5' 4. But I actually have a WAIST! I have curves where there once was ROLLS on my sides!!!

Was it worth it??? HECK YES!!!!

Thanks again!!:whoo:

good for you .I am sorry that you had pain. but everydy gets better. I went to my PS the otherday and I am now 2 1/2months out and I feel great. I have no restrictions at all and My PS told me that I am still swollen and that might last till November, thats when I am seeing him again.

Are you still taking pain meds? try to move a little more each day.

Thanks for the reply Pacomomma (love that name). I stopped taking the vicodin a couple of days ago and switched to a non-opiate pain pill called tramadol. It doesn't work as well but I was building a high tolerance to the vicodin. I take aleve if needed too. I went in today for my 3 wk post op and he said everything looks good and I am still swollen. It looks pretty good now (comparatively) so I can only imagine what it will look like when all the swelling is down!! I will try to move a little more each day. Doc gave me permission to walk a mile each day if I want and do light arm weights seated. I'll bet you look great!!! Imagine what we will look like at our 6 month check up!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
