Heart burn is constant

What a good otc treatment for heart burn I'm scared it's doing damage to my esophagus

You can get omeprazole over the counter at most pharmacies. Take it every single day (it only works if you take it regularly) and it may take a week to 10 days to see good results on reducing the acid.

I took it about 6 months after and seem to be okay now without it.

But do talk with your doctor at your next appointment to see if there are any other things they could do.

There are plenty of OTC treatments; Prilosec/omeprazole, Xantac, etc... However if you are having nearly constant heartburn/acid, perhaps it's time to call the doctor. One of the dangers of too much acid production is that it can lead to ulcers. Get it checked out and if need be get something prescription strength.

Omeprazole, as mentioned above. You mind you will need to be on it for life.
