edieparks 2 Posted July 23, 2007 When I first had the band last summer . I told everyone who asks , if a person is not ready to give up eating 4 pieces of chicken they are NOT ready to get a band. I hope that it a clear meaning to us overeaters. edie
late 0 Posted July 23, 2007 When i first started to consider getting the band i first thought i don' t want to live the rest of my life with that thing in me. (I'm 34) I knew i could do the work and get the weight off if i tried hard but keeping it off was the bigger problem. so that's were i decided i needed the help. I didn't want to spend the rest of my life losing and then gaining it all back plus some and feeling like a failure. So i decided to go for it. I was willing to give up being able to eat whatever i wanted and how much i wanted to live a healthier life.

mylap-band 0 Posted July 23, 2007 I am in the process of going through all the Dr. apt and thinking about getting the lap band... I would welcome any advice Good AND bad, that would help me to make this dicission... :help: I can tell you that for me IT WAS A LIFE SAVER , do all the research you can, talk to other people that have had the lap band surgery done and you will see for your self that it is the best tool to lose weight, for people like me at least that have tried every diet that any one recommended to me or the newest diet pill that I could get, until finally I accepted that I needed that extra little help from the Lap band and for me I can tell you, the lapband worked. I'll be happy to help you out on any doubts you might have I went trough this couple of years ago and I know I made the best choice.
late 0 Posted July 24, 2007 winnk I would do it again. I am almost 4 mos post op and i have lost 43 lbs. I still eat pretty much what i want. I do try to make healthier meal choices but if i want a cookie for dessert or a snack i will allow myself to have one. Notice i said one and not 5 (that would have been the old me) And i don't do it regularly. i'm sure my weight loss would be faster if i cut out all the carbs but i don't want to feel like i'm on a "diet" because we all know diets don't really work long term. I do try to work out at least 3x a week for at least 1 hour.
