Darragha 0 Posted July 23, 2007 Hi I've heard lots of things about the "pre op diet." What is your experience? Thank you, Darragha
TerriDoodle 6 Posted July 23, 2007 I was very fortunate that my doctor only prescribed a low carb diet pre-op. No liquid diet at all. His post op diet is also very liberal. There is a wide range of prescribed diets out there, so if you have a wide variety ofqualified doctors to choose from you may want to check out their pre-, post-op and post-fill diet requirements as part of your criteria in choosing one. kcorbin 0 Posted July 23, 2007 I'm having my surgery tomorrow. I had 10 days of pre-op diet which consists of 4-5 Protein Shakes or Soups and 1; 4 oz piece of chicken or fish once a day. Other than that drink, drink, drink Water or crystal light. I'm doing really goos on this. I thought I would get headaches and want to cheat or something, but you know I think knowing why I have to do this to get my liver to shrink for surgery is the best motivation. I am trying my best to avoid all complications. Good luck to you!! Kelli
SD Chick 0 Posted July 23, 2007 I just finished 2 weeks of Optifast and after the first couple of days - I got to liking it I really only lost 8 # in 2 weeks and was certainly hoping for more but had a lot of stress in this last week as we had a death in the family. Today I will be banded - wish me well.
