jstachic 61 Posted December 9, 2015 I started 30 mg of Vyvanse on Monday I have to say I feel very well, day 1 headache day 2 had a bit of trouble sleeping I have more energy, no trembling or shakes or rapid heart beat, a bit thirsty but that is good thing for me, it will help with my lack of Water intake, bad taste in my mouth not dry just yuck. but not hungry at all had to force myself to eat something. the bad tast in my mouth could also be from the Protein drinks, have not binged in 3 days yay me
Cervidae 2,389 Posted December 9, 2015 Vyvanse was always the most effective (really the only) medicine for me to treat my ADHD. I've been off of it for a year but I'm contemplating going back on it. No weird side effects? Doesn't it make you just hate food and have trouble getting all your calories in? I've worried about this.

Madmax68 227 Posted December 10, 2015 I have ADD and take 40 mg of Vyvanse daily. I took it up to the day of surgery and started taking again the day after. I've had no problems with it and no crashes when it wears off. I do however, take it upon waking at 6:30 - 7:00, so it's out of my system when I go to bed at 10:00. I have no trouble sleeping at night. I've been on it for years and it never really curbed my appetite. Since the surgery I don't have much appetite but I believe that's mainly attributable to the lack of ghrelin. the vyvanse likely helps too, but my hunger doesn't pick up on the weekends when I don't take it. cherri2082 149 Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) Jstachic - if you are up earlier try 7ish. I slept better when I took it then. Edited December 10, 2015 by cherri2082
jstachic 61 Posted December 11, 2015 Yes I am up early in the morning my son has to be at his bus stop by 640 so we are up a bit after 6am, I forgot to take it tismorning , I was worried about witdrawls if any? but I do know that a majority of ADHD sufferers will not take there meds on weekends as my nephew did the same

psychprof 141 Posted December 16, 2015 I am taking the Vyvanse for BED. Binge eating disorder, I was sleeved 3 years ago gained 30lbs back , I am sooooo ok with it making me hate food.< /p> Were you diagnosed with BED before or after your sleeve? I have a weird anomaly in my medical record now thanks to a doctor that heard me talking about stress eating and gave me a diagnosis of BED, and now my whole initial approval process is being delayed. I'm worried the diagnosis will make me ineligible for the surgery.
jstachic 61 Posted December 17, 2015 I was diagnoced after my sleeve. I'm 3 years post op diagnoced with BED a month ago, I also have bipolar depression . I don't think it will make you ineligible ,we all got here from bad eating disorders your trying to help yourself , and I'm sure your bariatric Dr understands that, try to think positive , who is your Dr ? jstachic 61 Posted December 17, 2015 Cherri 2082 what do you mean you quit? Taking your medication? Did the DR suggest that you should ? In my experience you should not stop taking a prescribed medication when it works for you and the Mg isn't that high

I agree with you. That's what I'm hoping too. I don't have a surgeon yet as I'm just now starting the process. I'm going through Beth Israel in Boston.
