Tomorrow I hit the two week mark! Today I felt hungry. I have read that sometimes this is due to your body producing too much acid and having to adjust to the change. Has anyone else felt this? I feel like I want to cry!!

Actually no. And I'm not sure if I'm glad or not. I'm at week 2. 5 and am struggling to want to eat anything. No hunger, but no real desire to move past liquids. Still have food fantasies but when it comes to actual eating anything... No. And it's weird.

Hunger is natural. What I would suggest, this is also what I am doing, eat your three small meals and if you feel hunger in between if you feel hungry drink Water and that should have the feeling go away. Another suggestion is eat a small spoonful of natural smooth Peanut Butter. I think VSG affects people differently and feeling hunger early on is natural. To be honest it is not normal to not feel hunger. I think the fear of hunger is that we think it will tempt us to eat. I cannot speak for you, but I know I have eaten food when I was not physically hungry. So, do not freak out about it. Hunger is normal. Drinking Water may help the feeling go away between meals. Let me know if that works for you.

I'm hungry too...was hungry from the pre-op diet when they wheeled me into the OR, was hungry when I woke up, and 4 weeks later, I'm still hungry. I have moments during the day when I'm not (say, 15 minutes after I've eaten) but by and large I'm hungry all the time. PPI didn't make a dent (I had chronically low stomach acid going in, so overproduction wasn't much of a possibility) and I drink 70-90 oz. of Water a day (NOT DEHYDRATED!) At my 2-week my surgeon sort of shrugged his shoulders and said that the human body is a mystery. Sigh.

I'm one month post op and it seems that when I feel hungry its most likely Im starting to get dehydrated.

I am at 3 weeks today. I have had a moment where i smelled what my family was having for dinner and i felt a little hungry but I just drink Water and i am all good. Drinking water takes away any hunger pains.

I'm four days post sleeve and I feel hunger too. It is scaring me because I thought the surgery was supposed to make me feel less hungry. Is it because I'm on liquid diet? Does it go away eventually?

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
