The itching was the worst!!!!! I grinned and bared it the first few weeks till my incisions healed and closed up. Lotion and warm Water soothes it for me.

If you are still on pain pills that can also cause itching

I also read somewhere rapid weight loss can cause stretch marks to become really itchy as well. There was some science about why that I can't recall! But it was def worse than the itchy incisions for sure!

Just read about the same thing. It can be from bacteria in the folds of the skin, low-fat diets can change the oil level in skin, or, as we are putting the skin through the ringer with the speed of the weight loss, that fascia is deteriorating. It can take some time to work itself out. But, it will.

Your incisions are healing. Unfortunately that's one of the down falls of healing incisions. I had surgery on my neck 2 months ago and my scar is still itching as if it was day one. Try some Vitamin e oil and run on belly and scars( if the incisions are fully healed of course) that may help some

So, someone said treat your sleeve like a new baby, be gentle and introduce things slowly. And as we all know, pregnant bellies are itchy bellies.... So that explains it. Maybe.

I had horrible itching during the first few weeks! Not to mention that the dry cold weather had set in already when I had my sleeve done. I used baby oil, coconut oil and even ended up getting a prescription from my physician. Ultimately, do the best you can to deal with your dry skin and know that it will go away when you least expect it.

Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
