Sweettee23 217 Posted December 8, 2015 I had gastric sleeve surgery on 11-16-15 and am 51 pounds down as of today. I am happy about the weight loss but I am having extreme buyers remorse now. I can't get in all of my fluids because I am always nauseous my nausea medication makes my heartburn worse and me extremely sleepy. This is beginning to feel like a nightmare I cannot wake up from. I don't eat much because of the nausea I don't really know what to do starting to get depressed feeling alone in this battle seems like everyone else is breasing through this. WL WARRIOR 692 Posted December 8, 2015 Dehydration can cause nausea and headaches. I would try drinking more fluids and see if that helps.
Sweettee23 217 Posted December 9, 2015 Thanks WL Warrior I have been trying to get in more fluids just really hard when everything makes you want to vomit.
Cheeselife 68 Posted December 10, 2015 Are you using Water flavouring, like Mio? I've heard that helps. Or sugar free ice lollies? I had my surgery yesterday, still nil-by-mouth, and I'd heard that it's difficult to keep down Water, so I'm worried too. It does sound like it's worth reaching out to your NUT, they'll be able to give you ideas and alternatives. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Sweettee23 217 Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) Trillian I am trying to drink crystal light and the frozen pops as well they are ok but a but strong to my taste buds right now. I am at the hospital now because I felt so bad the morning with cramps and dry heaves. I have had 2 bags of saline thus far but still can't urinate have to get hydration together I hope that will be the key to feeling better. Sleeve three days ago, and I figured out already that warm goes down easier.
bellabloom 2,467 Posted December 11, 2015 It will get easier. Don't worry about having to get in all your Protein etc. it's tough in the first couple months. Just focus on fluids and getting your Vitamins. Part of the journey is to let go of that feeling we have to eat so much. Your body will be fine without a lot of food for awhile. Like my doctor told me when I started out, the point is to make it hard to eat!!
M!@ 320 Posted December 11, 2015 Thanks WL Warrior I have been trying to get in more fluids just really hard when everything makes you want to vomit. I found I have a hard time drinking plain Water. I have to add something to it like crystal light or diet snapple packets. I will drink mostly that and sip Water in between to get use to the plain water. Now I am able to take plain water cold, but room temp is still a challenge. Of course, I am now working on that as well.
Sweettee23 217 Posted December 12, 2015 Trust me bellabloom that eating thought has been out the window. I don't really think about eating much because I am not hungry. Thanks for the tips hydration is definitely the key feeling much better after leaving the hospital and getting fluids and a different nausea med.

Sweettee23 217 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) Wow. I had surgery on 11/30 and only down 13 pounds... but I'm losing a lot of inches! Angie 13 pounds is an excellent lose keep up the good work. One thing to keep in mind is that we all lose a different speeds I have a lot to lose so naturally mine drops faster at the beginning not to mention I wasn't feeling great for the 1st 4 weeks so all I was doing was not getting much food in and walking (my stress relief) which I think helped the weight drop quickly. Good luck on your journey. Edited December 13, 2015 by Sweettee23
