Silly Rant!

Recommended Posts

WOW Sharon you lost so much in 4 months. You look fantastic and I never would have guessed you were not in the 200's yet. Have you started to exercise yet? If so, what are you doing? Keep going strong.

I was walking several days a week until about 3 weeks ago. I've having difficulty with a nerve that goes into my leg (unrelated to surgery) as well as plantar fasciitis in one foot, so I've backed off for a while.

I'm also 5 ft 7 inches tall, which helps me carry the weight in a "thinner" looking way.

I saw some friends tonight that I haven't seen since before my surgery. I got lots of "oh my gosh, you're skinny!". I had to laugh, since I'm still in the 300's. :D

Thanks for sharing about your exercise. So sorry to hear about your foot. I have had that many years ago and I know what I went through was very difficult. I hope that with the weight .loss it will be easier for you to heal. I am sure there are still some exercise you can do even if it is just sit down for now. Don't let this derail you, keep on going strong.

You've done well, eventually it will slow down too.. and you have to look for your body pattern.. I found mine will stick to the same weight for about 2.5-3 weeks, then I lose 5-6 pounds in one week, then I'm back to my mini plateau.. however, now.. during that 2-3 weeks of non weight loss, I'm losing inches like crazy.

do you go to a gym? Try to still get in weights if you can.. also, my gym has a bike for the arms.. which helps those who are not able to walk still get their heart rates up.. or rowing.. or we have a rope machine as well.. Swimming is also an option if you have an indoor pool around.

I have to say that I am a bit jealous. I had my surgery on August 17th and am only 64 lbs down. My doctor says I'm doing great but I'm hoping to lose 64 more. Right now just hopeful for onderland by the 6 month mark. And I agree with poster who said my business is Protein, fluids, Vitamins, and exercise. I believe that the lbs will come off eventually. Also you are doing GREAT and should not worry about 2 lbs. They will come off. Keep up the good work.

To show just how very silly my silly rant was, Friday I was 301. Now five days later, I'm at 292.

Still have a fever, but hey, I'll take it.

I ended up with pneumonia, got some strong antibiotics, and strict orders to rest.

And I dropped to 288 pounds! YAY ME!!!

Oh my goodness! Take care!

Get those antibiotics in ya!

Probably not the way you were expecting to drop weight so fast but hey, it works and it would've come off anyway!

Just get better please!

Your weight loss doesn't count when you're sick because chances are when you feel better, you'll eat more and the weight may go up. I remember when I weighed myself after having a colonoscopy. Of course I had lost five pounds in one day...but I gained it all back once I started to eat again. :)

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
