7 month post op stall!

Recommended Posts

I have read a million times that stalls are normal but I am losing hope! I have been at a stall for 5/6 weeks! I am eating correctly and exercising. My stats were sw 220 cw 170. Someone tell me I am not done losing! Any ideas/thoughts?

Stalls are a normal, natural and necessary part of the process. My guess is that the closer you get to goal, the more likely you will stall more often and for longer periods as your body adjusts. Have you talked to your NUT about your concerns?

I agree with @@Inner Surfer Girl. But you're also being vague about what you're eating, how much Protein you're eating, how much you're moving, drinking, etc....

Sometimes the things we are doing may stall weight loss. Sometimes it's just our bodies taking a much needed break.

So ask yourself this....have you been doing everything mostly by the book, or have you let some bad habits slip back into your diet? Are you eating enough? Too much? Those are some of the questions a NUT would ask you. If you're so inclined, you can give us an idea so we can throw some possible solutions your way, also.

The closer you get to goal, the slower your weight loss may be. I would touch base with the nutritionist to make sure you don't need to increase calories.

I thought I was stalling and my doctor told me I am still on target. We worked out a cycle because you occasionally need to shock your system to kick start loss. Talk with your surgeon to make a plan.

What did your dr suggest to you about shocking your body? Mine suggested a couple of things, but would love to hear what your said.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
