kimmom 5 Posted July 22, 2007 Hello I am confused about something. Well I went for my first fill on July 13th and recieved 3ccs in my 10cc band. I dont feel much restriction but get clogged immediately if I eat the wrong thing. I have stopped eating anything that has a consistency of a paste when chewed like bread or crackers. I dont feel a super amount of restricton and have no problem eating salad or Protein. I am chewing really good. Does getting clogged up mean that I am already filled tight or can " need " another fill and be already tight enogh to have things get stuck ? I am wanting another fill in Aug but nervous when I have now felt the stuck feeling maybe I just need more of my own will power and should not get filled tighter ? Dont know how to figure this out . Thanks so much Kim
allwright 0 Posted July 22, 2007 I know that different doctors say different things, but, many docs stated no soft breads as they can get "stopped" up. Everyone is different and cannot tolerate same foods. Main thing is to chew, chew and then chew som more. I feel slight pain or discomfort if I let a larger bite go down or take one more bite when full.
OH Juli 15 Posted July 23, 2007 Decide on getting a fill based on how much you've lost or will have lost by the time your fill appointment comes around.
giveyouthemoon 4 Posted July 23, 2007 It is not unusual at all to not be able to eat breads and crackers and stuff. That's sort of to be expected. The band is working best if you can eat hard Proteins and veggies, in small portions, and when you do, you stay full for several hours with no hunger. If you are eating "right" foods (proteins and veggies) but get hungry quick. then maybe look into a bit more fill. For now, from what you described, you sound like you are at a really good fill level. Don't push the fills!! Enjoy 'em while they work!!!
