hellos 19 Posted January 1, 2016 Hello! Tomorrow I scheduled to get my lap band removed due to my dilated esophagus (it's double the size). My lowest was about 155 and right now I'm 170. I've managed to maintain my weight for the past 1.5 years and I was told that I was a "special" case because normally people who cant eat and dilated esophagus gain A LOT of weight, so it's great I've maintained. Like most who hear the news of their lap band removal, my heart dropped and could not stop thinking of the weight gain ESPECIALLY after learning I can't have the sleeve done until AFTER 1 year. Ugghhhh... My goal is to go on Belviq and pray I maintain while my esophagus shrinks.. Any pointers? suggestions? Recipes...? Some encouragement would be great right now! hellos 19 Posted January 1, 2016 I too had a lap band removal 3 years after being put in due to it slipping. I did not op for the sleeve at the time so I maintained my weight about a year. Problem is I was so happy to be able to eat normal again that I started to gain weight the next year. I only gained 15 pounds, but I was afraid that all the weight would come back on. So on December 14th this year I got sleeved. Although I don't have much too lose it is still hard to have so much restriction. It is a different feeling then the lap band. No more vomiting at almost every meal. Now I just get the full feel in my stomach very fast and if I don't stop I feel a stomach ache. You will like the sleeve more the lap band I promise you!
