tdc 56 Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) So I am just getting a chance to post. Went in on the 8th. Never had a problem clotting before but this time I did. I was pre diabetic and was about to go into diabetic shock jumped to 250. So after all being said an Iron and blood transfusion, days of Iv fluids, ultrasound on kidneys to make sure they were ok and my labs finally returning to normal. I am finally home and the gas is crazy. Edited December 11, 2015 by tdc
tera1982 194 Posted December 11, 2015 I just tried to eat lunch and it did not go well. Terrible indigestion and feeling like everything is sitting in my chest. I obviously was overzealous and went to big, too fast. Lesson learned! What did you try to eat? I tried some Soup that I strained and had four spoonfuls and was done it was heavily diluted with Water too.I had puréed chicken...I had puréed turkey, chicken, and cod(which was actually better than it sounds) in the hospital, along with puréed carrots, peaches, applesauce, and Greek yogurt. I think I just tried eating too fast as well as to big a portion and it was too much. I have my tiny spoons from the program and am using those to help gauge my intake(doc wants # of those spoonfuls documented). I am more concerned at this point in getting my Fluid intake but just received my Protein soup broth from diet direct! Yeah, now I can do double duty! BonitaF 30 Posted December 11, 2015 Well, we've been wondering where you were! Okay--you're home and better --so glad--take it easy and heal. Milk products seem to be giving me more gas than Water based Soups
Cutepretty1 121 Posted December 11, 2015 @@tdc thankfully everything is better and you are home. @@BonitaF I think a private page would be good for us. I am sure we will have a lot to share like getting this drain removed next Wednesday????????????

Ellenomore 25 Posted December 12, 2015 Hello to all my December 8th sleevers !! Everything went well with the surgery I do have a some of the same common problems you all did and that is the GAS it was horrible. I finally passed gas as soon as I got home and had a bowl movement. I also had the hiccups for the first two days. Everything feels fine except for the incision where they took my stomach out, it is very sensitive and painful. When the surgeon looked at it she said I may have a hematoma but it should go away on its own. I was discharged on Dec 10th late afternoon, Besides that I use a 30 cc cup to get my liquids in. Yesterday I had was able to get in my 48oz of fluids which included ( 2) 35 gram Protein Shakes by sipping all day. I'm glad everyone is moving along and happy that I have a group that we can share our journey.
Cutepretty1 121 Posted December 12, 2015 @@Ellenomore congrats!!! today has been really challenging for me. I walk but the gas won't dissipate and BM has not crossed my mind or body. So happy that you are progressing really well. Keep up the good work and keep sharing. December 8th sleevers it may be time to move to the Post op forum section but keep the title. stepbill 5 Posted December 12, 2015 I am lucky as everything is going well for me also. I even went to Wal-Mart yesterday and today to buy a few small things. Got a bottle of V8 juice as I've read that was ok to drink. I wanted to get the spicey but did not think that would set too well. Curious, did anyone else get staples in their incensions? All five of mine have them. Even though I don't post much, I do lurk and enjoy reading your posts. Good luck and get well soon!
