LadyIkyba 11 Posted December 7, 2015 I began my journey late April 2015. Completed requirements and I have been waiting on approval from insurance since early October. Total weight loss 60lbs. I've called my insurance and they said doctor has not submitted paperwork. I repeatedly left messages to see what is going on? With the holidays and stress I've gained 10lbs. So than out of the blue I get a call from the doctor stating that they were booked til Jan. And didn't want to submit my paperwork to early other wise I'd have to start over. I told her that is all fine and dandy but it would have been nice if you'd call me to let me know what was going on, I thought you forgotten me. She laughed me off and said no. And said that she hasn't received my doctor referral? Hello lady when I left your office two months ago you guys said you had everything. ????
jane13 2,256 Posted December 7, 2015 @@LadyIkyba write down every name you talk to and take that info with you to the doctors office. names, time, date, context of conversation etc..... it's amazing how people respond to their name. go out to eat and refer to waitress by name. gets personal then
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 7, 2015 I'm trying to figure out why you feel like you failed with what appears to be a clerical error. The only misstep I see here is the stress eating that lead to gaining 10 lbs. Since your surgery is likely not going to happen until after the New Year, perhaps brain storm on what other things you can do instead of eat when stressed. It can be as simple as drink a glass of Water, to take a 10 minute walk, putting a rubber band on your wrist and snapping it when you feel the urge to stress eat. Some learn to knit/crochet, some do puzzles. Just get creative and brainstorm. It will keep your mind off the wait and help your build new coping strategies. OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted December 7, 2015 Well you haven't failed. Maybe you need to find a better program though.

If I hadn't heard that my surgeon is supposed to be the best in town, I would have looked somewhere else. The coordinator is not great to work with and other staff aren't friendly. I mean, this is a life changing event so you would think they would return my phone calls. I had a couple of glitches with paperwork, but ot it straightened out . I hope everything is on track for my surgery this month. Good luck to you. I hope it works out.

I had to call and email the office a total of six times (yes 6) to get a copy of my blood work so it would not be repeated by my endocrinologist and then be denied by the insurance. i received the blood work two days after I my appointment. The surgeons office did not send my orders over to have my preop testing done and they didn't call and get the endoscopy pre-authorized. Now the insurance is saying I owe over 6 grand. I'm hoping to win an appeal with the insurance. There are other minor issues as well. The only reason I'm staying with this office is because my surgeon is the very experienced and has been doing this a long time so I hope I won't regret my decision. However, without a doubt his staff certainly leaves a lot to be desired.
