Sugar free slurpe 711

Recommended Posts

I felt like I needed something really cold. 20 cals 0 sugar 0 fat 7 carbs for 8 oz. Is this starting down a bad path? I want opinions. To much carbs? I'm going on 3 weeks post and on pureed. I'm not talking about an everyday thing.

Sounds similar to a sugar free Popsicle which we are encouraged to eat post op.

good to know - I don't care for popsicles, so I would be into this....I also thought about taking the shaved ice out of my fridge and using some sugar free snow cone flavors or even some mio. I figure if I am getting a popsicle I will have to put it in a cup and let it melt before I try to do anything with it.

I thought slurpees were a no-no? They're carbonated which is hard on the tummy.

I've never had a carbonated slurpee! Interesting! Course I've never had one of the soda flavored ones maybe those are the carbonated ones? Our 711 has crystal light ones. Don't know how that could be bad

I know it's winter but most snow cone places also offer sugar free varieties. I like the sugar free wedding cake one.

I don't see how that could be an issue at all. 7 grams of carbs is not a lot actually.

I've never had a carbonated slurpee either... Even the one's at sonic don't have carbonation. I wonder what you're drinking.

Enjoy the SF Slurpees. The worst thing that will happen is you can get "brain-freeze" if you drink it too fast.

I Was told not to use a straw the first couple of weeks because it might make you take bigger sips,

I didn't use a straw I used a spoon lol, I let a lot of it melt and then just sipped the liquid

For the record, some slushy drinks are carbonated (the Coke Icee, or Circle K's Cherry Froster, for example). Others, like the Crystal Lite flavored should be fine.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
