Parmcat 1 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) Well hello there, I am Parm, and I am a noobie here. I am 45 years old, and am 12 days away from my RNY surgery at Toronto Westernl Hospital. Currently 9 days in on my 3 week journey on Optifast, and have lost about 15 pounds already. It really has been a bit easier then I thought it would be, but the cravings for carbs is still a bit overwhelming. My wife had RNY surgery 19 months ago, and has lost 90+ pounds, so I hope having her at my side will make this experience a bit easier to handle. I look forward to being a member of your little place on the web! All the best Parm Edited December 6, 2015 by Parmcat

heather5565 959 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) Hi Parm, I'm from British Columbia Canada! I'm 11 weeks post op RNY and I had my surgery in Montreal. I weighed in today and I've now lost 50 lbs! You can do this! It'll be great and you never regret one minute of it! If you need anything don't hesitate to message me. Or ask on this site. This site is amazing and holds tons of great information from other losers. (Hahaha) Just stick to your eating plan that your surgeon and/or nutritionist gives you. STICK TO THE EATING PLAN Okay! (Even over Christmas - just remember why you did this and keep in mind that all those Christmas/holiday goodies will be there again next year) You got this! Good luck to you and keep me informed of your progress! Cheers fellow Canadian Heather Edited December 7, 2015 by heather5565
lsheshequin 83 Posted December 8, 2015 Hi there! I'm from Ontario (way up north in Thunder Bay) too! In a few days I'll be 7 months post-op (RNY). I had my surgery here in Thunder Bay and had no complications. So far I've lost 74 lbs in total (about 8 of those were during the pre-op Optifast phase). I've been struggling a little for the last couple of weeks - not eating more, but making bad choices as to what I'm eating (CARBS!). Thanks to the support of the TBay Bariatric Centre and my personal trainer I feel like I am back on track. This site is another fantastic support. Hearing how others struggle and meet their challenges makes me feel not so alone, and the success stories are a great inspiration & motivation! Good luck to you on your journey!
