What can I do with...cottage cheese?

Recommended Posts

My favorite way to eat cottage cheese?

Slice of fresh Tomato, a little salt and a little pepper.

Mmmmmmm.

Babbs, how soon after surgery did you start eating tomato? I love tomatoes and surgeon said soft veggies are okay, just curious.

I ate tomatoes from 90 days on, with no problems.

My favorite thing is to add a drop of vanilla, 1/2 a Splenda and some diced strawberries or some blueberries. Tastes like cheesecake if you close ur eyes:)

I might try this. Thanks :)

I like to add honey or pineapple chunks when crave sweets

Or a teaspoon of jam, usually strawberry or apricot.

For savory, I like to add onion powder or a bit of ranch dressing and make into a dip, eat up with a few chips or veggies ????.

And sometimes I place whatever I created and eat it on 1 slice of wheat toast

Depends on craving and mood ????

Thank you for posting this, everyone's creations sound delish!

I love cottage cheese with applesauce (no added sugar) with a dash of cinnamon. It looks disgusting but is delicious!

I mix it with non-fat, high Protein, greek yogurt and never looked back! Otherwise I could not eat it without black pepper when plain.

1/2 cup mashed with fork and add about 1 tsp. sugar free lemon pudding mix. Tastes like cheesecake. I either add fresh berries(blueberries/strawberries) or a tsp. of sugar free jam. Just delicious!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
