I'm a month post surgery (yesterday) and just this week I've started having nausea. It's completely random. After eating, on empty stomach, when I drink Water, or any other liquids. I'm losing weight and feel great about that. I'm following the program and my guidelines. Anyone else have this problem start up? I haven't had problems till just this week and haven't really had any of the typical reactions to foods my body isn't ready for....I've been very careful adding stuff.

I didn't have the issue with nausea unless I ate too much or too fast. Or when I ate re-fried Beans. They did not agree with me.

I had this problem at 3 weeks. It got worse for me. It eventually turned into constant gagging and wretching, extreme stomach pain and nausea and vomiting up bile.

Turns out the point where the esophagus and stomach were connected had widened and was causing some serious GERD. This was caused by the gastric band and acted up once it was removed and the stomach was sleeved.

The cure for me was warm Water with lemon, Nexium 2 times a day and Zofran.

You could be getting nausea from acid reflux. Do you have any other symptoms? Try drinking warm Water in the morning. It really helped me.

I got nauseated to the point of vomiting after taking my Multivitamins - any connection to that?

I started getting nauseous last night and it has been ongoing on and off today. I am 3 weeks out and had no issues before. Like you it appears to be completely random. I am just riding it out and hoping it goes away shortly. If it gets worse or carries on, I will have to look into it.

Have you tried chewable gravel? That seems to do the trick for me.

Hope you feel better soon!

Today is my second day of being sleeved. The recovery progress is going great little to no pain in my stomach but nausea and vomiting has not been good for me. Any suggestions?

Warm Water and lemon worked for me. Room temp and cool Water was irritating my stomach.

Ray92, thanks. I hadn't tried warm Water. It mysteriously has let up a little since I posted. We'll see how today goes. Multi Vitamins don't seem to affect it. Weird... Thanks all ...

I have suffered from nausea since the day after surgery. It has gotten better but some days are worst then others. ...now i have developed this gagging syndrome in the morning when i first wake up before eating or taking any meds....it is so irritating. Anyone have this? Please advise on how long it lasts....becuz i dont know how much more i can take.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
