Okay I am going to carefully ask you to take a couple of breaths.................... It is going to be okay............. I think you are being to hard on yourself. ..................... When we get hung up on how long we stall and our weight fluctuations we go to the extremes....... I had my surgery 10/5/15 I'm 2 months and 3 or 4 days out............... My doctor thinks I'm doing great he said just watch your eating. Ask are you getting full quick ?Are you listening to your body? He said the weight will come off I started at 295 ...... stayed at 265 for well over 3 weeks I added more walking /cardio and don't get hung up on my weight because it took more than 1 month to pack all this weight on so it going to take me sometime......... This decision took over a year to make to even get another surgical procedure from the failed lapband........ I know you are beating your self up but take it one day at a time wls will take time................. Nice meeting you take it easy it does get better.

LOL I was jealous that you had a Ritz cracker. I am not quite 3 weeks post op. I'm only down 5 lbs post surgery. I was down 10 but the scale jumped 5 from Saturday to Sunday and is sitting there. I too am struggling to get down all the Protein and Water but I am making a more concentrated effort. My hospital's support group met for the last time this month at the same time I was in the doctor's for my post op so no support group until next month. My nutritionist says it is my muscles retaining the Fluid since I'm up to an hour a day Water walking with pool weights. I was so bummed out I didn't go to the pool yesterday but I am going six days a week(it was raining on and off anyway). In my head I jump to the thought that I regret the surgery but I know I needed to do this. I have today pledged to stay off the scale until the weekend. I do feel a difference in my clothing and can wear things that haven't seen the light of day in a couple of years. Keep moving and I know it will come off for both of us. Good Luck!

@@centlove8, I took a deep breath... I'm absolutely beating myself up. Nice meeting you too!

@A New KK holy cow! You work out six days a week?!? That's impressive! I'm striving to be you! I've GOT to get moving! I can feel a difference in my clothing, but only on certain days. Other days, I feel the same... keeping moving, you're doing awesome!!

@@AlliSan33 I tried the chocolate splendor with a banana half. It tasted good, but about 3 drinks in, I got the usual nausea. These Protein Shakes ARE stressing me out!! Good luck and keep up the good Protein drinking!

There is one Protein Shake I can handle and I have spent a few hundred dollars trying to find one I can handle, for a while I just did without. It is made by Beverly and the name on container is UMP. If you fix one scoop in a Blender Bottle with 10oz of Water it just taste like chocolate milk. I shake it about every other drink and I can actually take my time drinking it as it does not gag me. I have tried about 30 different drink and wasted a lot of money, so hopefully you can tolerate this one like I do.post-255575-14496659773413_thumb.jpg

I am 4 weeks from my surgery and have had that thought many times. It is so frustrating to not see the scale move. But I have started to take my measurements and they are moving quickly. Even my teenage son, who barely looks up from his phone, has told me how different I look. I guess it just takes time for your body to adjust to the change. I am just hanging in there and keeping my fingers crossed. Good Luck!!!!

A Protein shake with a banana half at 3 weeks would have been a bit heavy and very sugar rich for me at 3 weeks. My stomach tolerated everything.

Some people become lactose intolerant after surgery for a while. Maybe try Nectars which is lactose free and mixes with Water. You could also Water it down more than they recommend to start.

Make sure you are eating/drinking really slowly. It should take you 15-30 minutes. Take a sip, go do something, come back, take another sip. I would take a few laps around the house or yard between sips to get in my exercise too. Leaving the food between bites/sips means I can't mindless eat.

Fish is normally pretty high in Protein. I pureed chicken salad, tuna salad and egg salad with an immersion blender. I used Hellman's light mayo, some mustard in the egg salad. You could mix the chicken or tuna salad with a little lite mayo and/or yogurt. Maybe add a tiny bit of Protein powder to it.

I know some people eat with a baby spoon early on to help avoid the habit of too big of a bite at a time.

Yes, the 3 week stall is normal.

I am also one month out of surgery now. I lost 13 pounds in the first week and have lost nothing since then. I have been up and down a little bit....

The first week I lost and the last 3 weeks I have not lost anything. It has been frustrating and really unbelievable because I am eating so little but the information and the people on these boards have been keeping me sane!!!!!!! Really, every time I feel discouraged I get on these boards and read about the problems with stalls, fatigue etc. And then I realize I am just normal and the process is normal and I need to be patient. It's hard being patient but everyone on these boards are so helpful. Thank you to all of you that give of yourself and your time and information to help us new ones :-) the encouragement and information is so helpful. I don't think I would have done this surgery if it was not for all of your stories here.

I think part of my frustration with stalling for three whole weeks, and I am only one month from having surgery, is that I just cannot wait to start using this weight that I have fought with for so many years.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
