Wow your story is amazing and so are you! I had my surgery on April 25 and wonder if I'll ever get down to 120. Right now I'm down to 195... and I recently started feeling hungry more often... and I've been noticing I can eat more things and more of it and that's scary b/c I don't want to fall back into my bad habits.

:) I wish that were true. I need it on my stomach and I think my chin. But I'm not freaking out about it. I'll make it happen once money permits.

The fact is I feel like who the heck cares!! I'm so lucky to have the body I have now and I'm happy with the way I look. I'm not perfect but I'm not in my 20s, I am mother and I don't need to be perfect. Its a whole package deal.

You look amazing! Very motivating to me as I'm working to get these last 15 pounds off. I'm sorry to hear about the difficult time you've had medically, but you pushed through and you have amazing results to show for it. Congratulations.

WOW!!! You look AMAZING! It is stories and pictures like yours that inspired and motivated me to begin my own bariatric journey. I truly believe that maintaining will be easy for the reminder of your life, because you have mentally overcome the mind games that plague us all--mind games that got many of us to the point of obesity and kept us there, quite frankly). I believe that 90% of this journey is a mind game. It is about perception. You can look at it negatively or you can look at it positively. I chose to focus on the positives and ultimately began to realize what you realized:

...I've realized that health and taking care of oneself is more important that anything because our body is our temple and deserves our utmost respect, love and care.

Keep it up, beautiful lady! And keep us posted!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
