Hi everyone! I have began to notice how picky my pouch is! My pouch can't handle anything that's dry, which means I order all meat medium rare or I can't eat it. I can only have meat that is super tender and juicy, which eliminates many restaurants for me. Also, I can't tolerate cheap food, being from a cheap restaurant or grocery store. Do any of you have picky pouches or sleeves?

My pouch is picky too. I've been thinking I should name my pouch some really prissy name. Haven't thought of a good name yet.

My pouch is picky too. I stopped eating meat for a couple of weeks, actually I am basically eating a vegan diet. I have had no pouch problems. I don't know how long I will keep it up , but I am enjoying how well my pouch feels!

In my house the pouch is referred to as it's own entity. "The pouch didn't like that meal" or "The pouch isn't feeling good right now". My husband "what does the pouch want for Breakfast?".

I don't tolerate much meat right now so I still have to rely a Protein shake for Breakfast. At least I can drink those now where before the pouch rejected them immediately following surgery. chicken is the most tolerated meat followed by hard boiled eggs (NOT scrambled).

This honestly is pretty normal, certainly for bypass. My nut warned me about the need for non over cooked meats or using low fat sauces and gravies with your meats.< /p>

I am 14 months out. The only real pork I can eat is pork tenderloin cooked to slightly pink and rested before slicing. I love chicken but it too has to be cooked just to temperature and I usually need a sauce with chicken.< /p>

I cannot order fish in a cheapo chain restaurant that usually cooks it to death.

Yes, my pouch is picky but when it gets some good, moist Protein it is so very happy afterward.

Because of this I prefer to cook 99 percent of my food at home but if we do go out, I am pretty picky about where we go.

I have not ventured to a restaurant yet. I think my pouch won't let me.

I have a picky sleeve that 6 months out still hates poultry--particularly breast meat, is hit or miss on pork, fish and eggs, but tolerates rare steak just fine (go figure). Greek yogurt is still a staple as are Soups and shakes. Some days my sleeve even decides shakes are a no go....mostly if i drink it too fast though.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
