If it's interfering with your way of life, you may want to seek counseling.

I totally understand. I met with my dietitian last week and she said in 5 more pounds I can start eating carbs and more good fats to slow down my weight loss as I'm close to goal. I don't want to overdo and gain back the weight. But she said to start one new carb or fat a week and watch the scale just to be sure I don't go overboard. One day at a time Sam. You can do this. I believe surgery was the hardest part and we are well past that. :)

I think if you follow you NUT guidance you won't have any problems. You have done really well so far, and I don't see why you wouldn't continue to do so. Even though there is a so called 'honeymoon' period it doesn't mean that you will just stop losing weight when that period is over.

Could you update your info? You ought to be showing off how much you have lost! :) Just go to top of page and put your mouse over 'patients' there is a place to click 'my patient info' (well, if you are on a computer lol) It is nice to see where people are in their journey.

Breathe in, breathe out - and hang in there! And as someone else said - if your fears overwhelm you get some help.

Personally I think we all should be fearful, it is too easy to gain weight back, we all know this we all have done it before. I don't think you need counselling, just keep doing what you are doing and be fearful!!

I think that is very common for all of us. I am nearing maintenance and do not look forward to the day I have to incorporate more calories. I would like to lose another 10-12 pounds. So, just hang in there and know that is a common fear, especially after what we have all been through because nothing about this road is easy!!

Wow SAM that is awesome!!! Good job.

I've lost around 123 pounds since Sept 2014. Talk to Renee and she can give you tips on what you can or can't snack on. At least I'm a huge snacker. ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
