Surgical gas question

Recommended Posts

Anatomy question first... If the air is pumped into the abdominal cavity how does it move into the intestines to be passed out of the body?

And I'm scared of it so does anyone have great tips for relief?

I haven't had my wls but I've had gall bladder surgery. My gas pain was in my upper chest. The remedy is to walk walk walk.

I think that it's a myth that it passes through your intestines. Any gas would dissolve into your bloodstream and then be exhaled through your lungs.

Don't stress the gas. I was so paranoid about it but didn't have any gas pains at all. Most doctors today try to remove as much gas as possible when the surgery is done.

That was one of the things I asked my surgeon pre-op. He said he extracts as much of the CO2 as possible. Consequently, I had NO gas pain at all.

I was pretty freaked out about gas pain after everything I read. I didn't have any gas pain in the hospital or at home.

⬆️This is what I love to hear. I'm hoping I don't have too much or even better no gas pain. Had a hysterectomy 5 years ago and had none at all.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
