JourneyInside 9 Posted December 3, 2015 Anyone else have a giant lump under one incision site? It's the biggest incision site. It feels like I'm incubating an egg in there. I wonder what will hatch...
lark60 431 Posted December 3, 2015 You could have an infection developing. Recommend calling your surgeon ASAP.
lahhleslie 30 Posted December 3, 2015 How long post op are you? Could be infection, could be a hematoma. I would absolutely call your surgeon.
curvybritt 53 Posted December 3, 2015 I have an incision that's a little bit harder than the others, but it feels like scar tissue. Anything bigger than that I would call you surgeon, just for peace of mind.
tracy amanda 8 Posted December 3, 2015 You have an infect in it like my mum did by the sounds of things. Get to Dr and he will put you on antibiotics Good luck xx
JourneyInside 9 Posted December 3, 2015 Thanks all- I'll email the dr. I'm two weeks out. I really don't think it's infected- it looks lie it's healing really well and isn't hot or painful. I'm guessing there are internal stitches. But, I'll email just in case. Thanks!
BarrySue 602 Posted December 3, 2015 I also had a couple lumps in my two largest incisions where the skin simply didn't lay flat. But I'm nearly six months out and it's smooth again.
dwstarr 6 Posted December 3, 2015 I have a lump above my belly button incision. It's very hard. I'm 5 weeks out from surgery and my surgeon opened it up and drained it. Very painful! It's still draining and I hope it starts healing soon and doesn't get worse. He had me on antibiotics last week, so I guess I don't need anymore. Keep a eye on it. I noticed my lump a few weeks after surgery and it wasn't until 4 weeks out it started to turn red and hurt.
A New KK 104 Posted December 3, 2015 I have one incision site that has a bump too but my doctor wasn't concerned. I wound up on antibiotics anyway at not quite two weeks post op. Got a urinary tract infection from the catheter. Ugh!

Got a urinary tract infection from the catheter. Ugh! That's awful! I feel your pain- the OR Antibiotics during surgery gave me a yeast infection. So not fun.
