MsCyrus 90 Posted December 10, 2015 Your hospital should have everything! Bariatric surgery is becoming a big industry so the nurses are being trained to better understand WLS patients and their after surgery needs. I have been so impressed! ! I visited a sleever yesterday and she had SoBe Water, regular Water, Jello and the nurses supply sugar free throat lozenges for any sore throats or dry mouth. Cheeselife 68 Posted December 10, 2015 I think the day after surgery is easier as far as dry mouth goes, but the day of surgery is tough when you are nil-by-mouth and you've been awake since midday! Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

FL_Buckeye 12 Posted December 28, 2015 December 17 for my DH and I. We are in Wilmington, Delaware. On the liquid diet now, has not been too bad so far! I just saw that you and your hubby did the surgery together like my husband and I did. We were the 16th. How are you both doing?
Tammy O 8 Posted December 28, 2015 We are doing good, a quick trip to the ER last Monday for kidney stones for hubby, but doing well. Getting used to the stomach/esophagus spasms when you take too big of a bite/sip of something. Completely bored with the liquid diet! Have tried some scrambled eggs, which went down ok, in small servings. Hubby is down about 55 lbs and at least 3 sizes in jeans since we started this journey, I have lost about 48, but don't see the change in my clothes so far. How are you both doing? FL_Buckeye 12 Posted December 28, 2015 That's great! Good job to both of you. I've been great since surgery. No pain or nausea, just light gas and reflux from a hiatal hernia repair. Fluids go down pretty good, but still falling a little short on Proteins. But I'm almost right at the minimums, so not too bad. Hubby has had terrible nausea since surgery. We're on day 3 in the hospital now. They went ahead and admitted him to get the nausea under control and fill him with fluids. He's doing well now though. Hopefully going home soon. Docs say unfortunately this just happens with a small percentage of people and it'll take down time. I'm down 38 lbs from my high weight before PreOp diet and hubby is down over 60 lbs. He's a big guy though at 6'7". Those darn guys lose like crazy! Lol. Best wishes to you both! People thought we were crazy to do it together, but I think it's the best way!
