Pea523 28 Posted December 21, 2015 People who lose fast, like some of you folks are losing, usually are heavyweights to begin with, men (with more muscle tissue), and younger people (who may be more active and have a higher metabolism). I certainly didn't lose fast. I just ran all my monthly weight loss numbers, and they look like this: Pre-op loss: In 2.5 months - lost 20 pounds Post-op losses: Months 1-4 - averaged 10.5 pounds/month Months 5-8 - averaged 5.6 pounds/month Months 9-12 - averaged 2.2 pounds/month Months 13-16 - averaged 1.5 pounds/month Ann, at what weight did you start? I started at 217.5 on Nov 17th, and now I am down to 202.4. I lose and will even go up two lbs. I am also a type II diabetic for 16 years. I am back to taking Metformin, and I think it is aiding in my weight loss. I am also starting to get in all of my Protein, which I was having difficulty doing before. I also cheat. Have had a Ghirardelli square and piece of bread here and there in the last week. I do not cheat often and I maintain control for the most part. I usually do not desire chocolate or bread unless my blood sugar levels are low.

VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted December 21, 2015 PS I did not eat anything like chocolate at all the first six months. I had a huge respect for the value of the honeymoon period. However, I did have high Protein, high Fiber bread during the weight loss periods. Definitely did not overdo it though. Don't waste those first six months on sugar and crap.
