shortsoprano72 11 Posted December 1, 2015 I'm sad because I have been searching and searching for Insurance that will cover WLS, because I can't afford to self pay. Please keep me in your prayers. I feel like if they'd pay for WLS, they wouldn't have to deal with me going to the dr., with all of these health issues.
TinyTink 268 Posted December 1, 2015 I don't know if this is a possibility for you, but I borrowed from my 403b retirement savings. Automatic approval.

Tobeornottobe 89 Posted December 2, 2015 I believe most sites allow you to search by zip code so hopefully that will help.
Fat2Phat2016 541 Posted December 2, 2015 I had the same issue. That is why I am headed to Mexico. My surgery is Monday.
Kathy812 794 Posted December 2, 2015 @@shortsoprano72, I will pray for you. You would think in this day and age more insurers would see the benefits of paying for the surgery(long term). They will definitely save money. I'm sure it's frustrating. Best wishes
Yaberhoo 358 Posted December 2, 2015 My insurance wouldn't pay (and I weighed over 400lbs!). I did self pay in Mexico for $4200. total except travel. I did my research and found a wonderful, reputable company. My doctor is not only certified in Mexico, but also certified on the American Board of Surgeons! That cost would probably be similar to any copay you have to pay in the US.
