BestDayEver 418 Posted December 1, 2015 I made it to the top of a mountain trail today, 3.2 miles to top and back. Approximately 1,500 feet in elevation. I had to stop 5 times just to rest on occasion but I made it. The last time I did this was 24 years ago. Last summer I wrote down why I wanted to lose weight and being able to hike to the top of this trail was one of those goals.

BestDayEver 418 Posted December 2, 2015 Congrats on your victory!! There is something about a hike that leaves you feeling accomplished. It's one of my new favorite hobbies!! Way to go???? Thank you! I've decided hiking is one of my favorite ways to exercise. The challenge of getting to the top really encourages me to keep at it, and the view and sense of accomplishment is so rewarding. It's killer on the legs so I just think about how strong I'm getting (heart and lungs too).

pink dahlia 2,513 Posted December 2, 2015 Congratulations ! I hope you took pictures , lots of them !! Reason being , I had a similar situation 2 yrs ago. As a beginner runner one of my goals was to run a 2 mile loop through a certain campground ( google Fort Warden, Pt. Townsend, Washington if you're a history fan) I had been to many times. Luckily they sell postcards there of the fort grounds and I can see where I was able to run. Although I can no longer run due to a foot injury, those postcards are still where I can see them everyday to remind me of what I did, and what I can still do to keep myself healthy and strong. Huge motivator for me !! Congrats again, and keep up the good work !!
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted January 1, 2016 Congratulations! This sounds awesome. I grew up in the mountains, but it has been decades since I have been able to hike up hill. This is an NSV I am looking forward to!
