I would highly recommend picking up "weight loss surgery cookbook for dummies", it's super useful and have lots of recipes for every stage.

I chose to learn nutrition and educate myself on eating healthy, it's been a year since I started and I keep learning, it provides me a chance to not eat the same foods everyday and to be more savvy when choosing what to buy, my journey is a bit different I don't follow the norm, I am 6 months out as of December 10th, and I followed my dietician's recommendations to the letter for the first 2 months, I patiently waited Til I was ready to incorporate certain thing into my diet, my goal is to reach a balance but remain patient and focused, I look at nutritional values and disregard calories and fats, I also have found several helpful websites that provide bariatric friendly restaurants, another good thing for me was to learn different cooking methods such as slow cooker, indoor grilling and my favorite, stir fry, the benefits of teaching and learning new methods is that you are able to omit certain ingredients that are bad for you, good luck in your journey, you will be successful but this is where you should begin, I learned lots of bad habits growing up so now I am relearning long lasting good habits, BTW I started at 388lbs in January and on June 10th my surgery date was at 342.2lbs, today I am at 269lbs , with 75 more to go, and I have had 2 stalls but will keep going forward because I feel better everyday, find your rhythm and stick with it, it ultimately is your body and we are all very different
