280journey 24 Posted November 29, 2015 My preop diet begins Thursday. I'm glad I got to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with family. I didn't overdue it as much as I thought I would, considering all I have been thinking about is FOOD!! I was craving my favorite food at a restaurant yesterday and just had to have it, but once it was before me I really didn't enjoy it that much. I need to go to the grocery store today, but I feel like I'm going to buy a bunch of junk food when I get there....is this considered the food funeral period?? mrs kaje 347 Posted November 29, 2015 Yes it is. If you really want to have things, go for quality over quantity, or true favourites only. If you put too much on now, most of your pre-op period will just be getting rid of the crap you eat over the next few days, and that's a waste of time. TinyTink 268 Posted November 29, 2015 My doctor wants the weight loss to start immediately and not have food funerals. This is going to be a lifestyle change. As soon as I made the decision to have WLS, I made most of the changes necessary. This was even before I had my Skype appointment with him. Everyone is different though, and I can certainly understand wanting things one more time. I still have Christmas to get through!
280journey 24 Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) My surgery is December 18th so I will be on liquids for Christmas. I think that's what I'm focused on. Edited November 29, 2015 by 280journey
McMasterflash 46 Posted November 29, 2015 I am trying to get an appointment early January. This puts me fasting on Christmas and new years. I see this as a small but hard price to pay for my new life. Not too hard I hope!
