shakes for 1 month, lost 30

@@chat@ontera.net

Whattttt???

i am an ol' fart, not sure i heard you right

you stayed on liquids for one whole month!!!!

(maybe others have too)

i might be making too much of a big deal

but i think all shakes for a month is great!!

i was glad my doc didn't put me on a pre-op liquid diet

in hindsight i know i could have put myself on shakes

I would have lost a few lbs prior to surgery

some members on the board

signed up to do all liquids for 5 days (at least)

i did great for four days

then i said screwww this!!!

sticking to only liquids (Protein shakes) for one month

shows your dedication and strength!!!

this adds up to success as you continue with the sleeve

holding a Protein shake to your health

keep up the the good work

i'm sure you will!!!

kathy

congrats

Hi, fellow 21 Oct sleever.

That date will be etched in my mind for a very long time as it is the day that I could finally take control of my weight. Albeit with the skill of my surgeon. Weight loss so far is 21lbs. I feel great. My energy levels are increasing, having dropped pre-op. I enjoyed my afternoon naps then but love the way I am feeling now. Haven't told my husband yet as I reckon I still need an excuse to catch a little shut eye on a dreary English afternoon when I haven't got anything pressing to do!!!!! Walking my dogs further and faster every day. Getting used to new eating habits and enjoying the new feeling of 'fullness'. Haven't felt completely stuffed for years! Wish I had asked my surgeon just what size my removed bit of stomach was when he removed it. Maybe it's a good job I didn't as I would probably still be hanging my head in shame.

Still mixing fruit juice with pure whey Protein and watering it down with coconut Water for a quick solution to the liquid/protein quota for the day. It is there when I'm in too much of a hurry to stop. I'm sure that it might not be the best idea but it's working for me. I'd rather have that than the flavoured shake powder as there are so many additives in them and I'd kinda like to keep my body free from crap!

Love these forums by the way.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
